Una remezcla es un medio de comunicaci\u00f3n que ha sido alterado respecto a su estado original a\u00f1adiendo, eliminando y\/o cambiando elementos del mismo. Una canci\u00f3n, una obra de arte, un libro, un v\u00eddeo o una fotograf\u00eda pueden ser remezclas. La \u00fanica caracter\u00edstica de una remezcla es que se apropia de otros materiales y los modifica para crear algo nuevo. Lo m\u00e1s habitual es asociar las remezclas con la m\u00fasica y las canciones. Las canciones se remezclan por diversas razones: para adaptarlas o revisarlas para su reproducci\u00f3n en la radio o en discotecas para crear una versi\u00f3n est\u00e9reo o de sonido envolvente de una canci\u00f3n que no exist\u00eda anteriormente para mejorar la fidelidad de una canci\u00f3n antigua cuya grabaci\u00f3n original se ha perdido o degradado para modificar una canci\u00f3n para adaptarla a un g\u00e9nero musical o formato radiof\u00f3nico espec\u00edfico para utilizar algunos de los mismos materiales, lo que permite que la canci\u00f3n llegue a un p\u00fablico diferente para modificar una canci\u00f3n con fines art\u00edsticos. Las remezclas no deben confundirse con las ediciones, que suelen consistir en acortar un m\u00e1ster est\u00e9reo final con fines de marketing o difusi\u00f3n. Tambi\u00e9n hay que distinguir entre una remezcla y una versi\u00f3n. Una remezcla recombina fragmentos de audio de una grabaci\u00f3n para crear una versi\u00f3n modificada de la canci\u00f3n.
