Instagram (portmanteau van Instant Telegram) is een online mobiele dienst voor het delen van foto's, video's en sociale netwerken waarmee gebruikers foto's en video's kunnen maken en delen op verschillende sociale netwerkplatforms, zoals Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr en Flickr. Een onderscheidend kenmerk is dat het foto's beperkt tot een vierkante vorm, vergelijkbaar met Kodak Instamatic en Polaroid foto's, in tegenstelling tot de 4:3 beeldverhouding die meestal wordt gebruikt door mobiele apparaat camera's. Gebruikers kunnen ook digitale filters toepassen op hun foto's. De maximale duur voor Instagram-video's is 15 seconden. Instagram werd opgericht door Kevin Systrom en Mike Krieger en gelanceerd in oktober 2010. De dienst won snel aan populariteit, met meer dan 100 miljoen actieve gebruikers en meer dan 300 miljoen in december 2014. Instagram wordt gedistribueerd via de Apple App Store, Google Play en Windows Phone Store. Ondersteuning voor de app is beschikbaar voor iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch en Android-toestellen, terwijl Instagram-apps van derden beschikbaar zijn voor Blackberry 10 en Nokia-Symbian-toestellen. De dienst werd in april 2012 overgenomen door Facebook voor ongeveer US$1 miljard in contanten en aandelen.
